Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) is a one-day course suitable for workplaces where risk assessments identify the need for trained first aiders to deal with low to medium risk situations.

The course is delivered in a practical, supportive, and engaging format, enabling learners to confidently respond to a range of emergency situations, including life-threatening incidents. It also provides an understanding of the legal responsibilities of first aiders and employers.

Upon completion, participants will be able to assess incidents, provide immediate care, and manage emergency situations until professional medical assistance arrives.

Understanding the role of an emergency first aider, including legal responsibilities and record keeping.

Learning how to safely assess a scene and prioritise first aid actions.

How to manage an unconscious casualty, including airway management and recovery position.

Practical training in CPR for adults, including the use of an AED.

Recognition and treatment of choking in adults.

How to control bleeding and manage shock safely and effectively.

Treatment of minor workplace injuries such as cuts, grazes, burns, and scalds.
